Building a Foundation is inspired by a once-in-a-lifetime trip that Quinn took to Kipsongal, Kenya, where she helped to build a foundation for a new school.
Colours were chosen to reflect the colours of the ground, the sky, the uniforms of the children and the school. This painting was created by pouring acrylic paints in patterns across canvas.
